Vermont is home to scores of
environmental companies – and for good reason. The Green Mountain State’s
beautiful, forested landscape and environmental ethic are widely
recognized, as is its tradition of producing highest-quality goods
and services. Though a predominantly rural state, Vermont is home to a
concentration of trained environmental scientists, engineers,
educators, technicians, and entrepreneurs. The result is a wealth
of innovative firms, small and large, with a global reputation for
creating sound environmental solutions.
Vermont Environmental Consortium is a statewide non-profit
association of businesses, educational institutions, non-profit
organizations, and public agencies. Its members provide services,
products, and education in every environment-related field, and
work together to foster environmental preservation and sustainable
economic growth.
VEC exists to
help environmental enterprises achieve their goals through
activities that embrace every scientific discipline and every
social and policy arena. Its projects and services promote business
growth in the environmental sector, excellence in environmental
education, a culture of sustainability and sound stewardship
practices, and greater opportunities for environmental science and
technology professionals.
